Even If...

I'm in a crumpled cardboard box somewhere
In a bedroom in a house that barely stands
Now the books on shelves are promises
And the cupboards wells of hollow emptied plans

And we don't even know who's guilty, just feel so tired
It takes so much out of you
And even though we hoped, we tried, we're left to reside
Oh it takes so much out of you

All the optimistic notions that
I could reinvent the fear, the facts, all fade
You see I could run and run and not look back
Or I could stay and face the tricks, the traps I laid

But either way is no real way to escape the fight
That just takes so much out of you
And even when there's no commitments left to decide
It still takes so much out of you

All of me is stored out of sight
Packed in boxes for another life
I don't know which direction I
Should be facing to recover myself

Because even if you move away the sting will not hide
It will take so much out of you
And even as you smile you feel it stirring inside
It just takes so much out of you

Sarah & The Multiverse

I miss my dirty rave scene
The shuddering highs
Bricks fall the lights turn hazy
And we come alive

And we dance around the straps on the beds
And we dance around the polystyrene
And we dance to magic dust on the decks
And we dance we dance we dance to death

Sarah is spinning light webs
Loved and wide-eyed
She feels the beats like lightning
Strip her disguise

And we dance down the black corridors
And we dance with ghosts that break from our heads
And we dance against the dark padded walls
And we dance we dance we dance til we fall
